Madame and the Libra Station Exhibit

Madame and the Libra Station

The exhibit features dozens of sweeping, panoramic photos of space, as well as several photos highlighting the unusual space creatures some Meadous residents encountered along with descriptions of their observed behaviour. Courtesy of K's thorough exploration, there are photos documenting virtually every nook and cranny of the space station that visitors had access to, notably:
  • The Central Command Hub and lounge where the Chariot Unit was previously housed.
  • The Medical Bay. An advanced facility using Cochran technology and where basic medical supplies were kept. The MedBay also housed all research facilities on the station, and there were backroom labs that housed a variety of mundane and technological scientific equipment.
  • The Storage Bay. Where extra supplies and equipment were stored. It had been severely damaged from meteor strikes and space suits were required to deal with the lack of atmosphere within.
  • The Engineering Bay. Where the station power system and propulsion were located. The area had also been severely damaged and space suits were required for entry.
  • The Habitation Bay. Where hydroponics, the mess hall, and sleeping quarters were located. The sleeping quarters varied, but they typically included a large, shared living room, shared bathroom, and four 2-person bedrooms. Food in the mess hall was dispensed by replicator units, with the majority of foods that could be found on Earth being available.
  • The Recreation Bay. There were entertainment systems, including immersive, 3D video games, a library, sports courts for things like basketball and tennis, and a gym.
  • The Docking Bay. Home to shuttles that could ferry visitors to and fro.

A precisely recreated map of the space station has been labelled with care, different coloured strings connecting each main bay on the map to the relevant cluster of photos.

Off to the side of the Medical Bay section, there's a couple photos of a bio-scanner from the Libra Station with an explanation of its functions and a note stating that it's in K's possession.

There's a section dedicated to the station's caretaker AI program, Madame, as well as the Multi-Operational Droids, or MODs, with descriptions of their respective purposes, both pre- and post-reprogramming. In one photo that was taken by K's own AI companion, Joi, K is shown reading to Madame from a paperback book.

There's a summary of events — including the trials — and the known history of the space station and the world it came from. Several of the main points that came up during the town meeting are also briefly recounted, though, diplomatically, no mention is made of the more overtly roboracist opinions certain Meadous residents expressed (subject to change should K decide to put up a full transcript of the meeting one day). The decisions that were reached regarding what to do with Madame (altered her directives to grant her free will and gave her a physical body), the MODs (they were saved), the Chariot Unit (those within were preserved), the trials (they were ended), and the Libra Station itself (it was abandoned) are noted.

The exhibit concludes with photos of Madame in her android body, with her heart-shaped locket that serves as the new Chariot Unit, happily interacting with Meadous residents and surrounded by MODs on that last day before Zephyr helped her find a new home. There's also a Latin phrase: Astra inclinant, sed non obligant.
