Character Name: KD6-3.7
Canon: Blade Runner 2049
Game Transplant: From a PSL universe
Original App: n/a but the PSL info is above, and his character information page covers much of what an app would.
Game Summary: Blade Runner meets Detroit: Become Human. A blending of both universes. K was originally taken from a pre-canon point, having been transferred from the Los Angeles Police Department to the Detroit Police Department, specifically their Retirement Division, following reports of increased rogue replicant activity in the city. He's given orders to hunt them down and retire them, the canon term for killing replicants. Lieutenant Joshi of the LAPD remains his overall handler and the person directly responsible for him. He and the rogue RK800 android Connor live in the same apartment building and become friends, he also befriends the rogue Nexus-8, Sapper Morton. Things are very Complicated.

How long was your character in Game: Several short but very productive months.

History of Character in their Game: There's a full summary over at the PSL hub page. I can elaborate more if needed. K will be taken from this thread with Connor, where they're reunited after several months of being apart.

How did they change from their canon personality wise (Please explain what caused it to happen?) Because K was taken from a pre-canon point, he essentially started as a blank slate, a Nexus-9 as absolutely obedient as any "factory default" Nexus-9 and unable to disobey his human handlers, no matter how degrading or illogical their orders may be. His experience in the world was largely limited to his job, he'd never had friends before and his superior officer was the human with whom he interacted the most – their relationship was purely professional. Then he met Connor and Sapper. As his friendships with Connor and later Sapper developed, so too did K's emotions and emotional range, sense of self, and personhood in a way that was meant to mirror his canon development, just with a different premise. Because of the changed circumstances, he's picked up a few unique quirks along the way. Such as his desire to not just enjoy listening to music, but to create music himself, which he fulfilled by acquiring an old upright piano that he spent several weeks restoring and learning to play.

Because of his complicated feelings for Connor – they're close friends, and K's in the process of figuring out that he might like them to be more to each other, but would Connor ever want the same? – even though he purchases a Joi (a holographic AI companion), it isn't with the intention of having a relationship with her the way he does in canon. It's done to get his boss off his back. She's essentially a fancy Siri to him, he has no strong emotional attachment to her at this point.

Another notable difference from his canon personality is that he hasn't quite recognised himself as a person yet, still thinking of himself as a thing, but he's slowly getting there.

At one point, his handler has him undergo a procedure that's meant to essentially "reset" his emotions back to their baseline. It leaves him in a numbed state and undoes much of his emotional development that occurred with Connor and Sapper, but because he retains his memory, including the memories of how certain situations and conversations made him feel, his emotions do eventually return. With their return he also remembers brief flashes of the procedure, which disturb him and cause him to question how many times he's been forced to undergo this "reset". It seems that hadn't been the first time.

He's in a strange, nebulous state of wondering, "Am I a person? Do I even want to be a person?" Neither human nor machine, but somewhere confusingly inbetween.

How did they change from their canon physically (Please explain what caused it to happen?): He thankfully hasn't been mildly eviscerated as he was in canon, so there's that. Most of the injuries he incurred at the hands of the RK900 android he fought have healed, with the exception of his fractured skull, that's a work in progress. He's also technically a bit younger than he is in canon but it isn't noticeable because he doesn't age. No other major changes.

Powers: He's a military grade Nexus-9 optimised for combat and police work. This means many of his senses and abilities are essentially at a superhuman level. His strength, reflexes, agility, endurance, resilience, combat abilities, marksmanship, and eyesight are all enhanced. Replicant intelligence is said to be equal to that of the scientists who created them; he learns at a greatly accelerated rate, possesses perfect recall, and is shown to understand every spoken/written language he encounters, so was presumably programmed to know quite a few.

A note on his resilience, he heals faster and with fewer complications than a human would. He can survive considerably more damage than a human (such as being impaled by rebar then beat almost to death by another Nexus-9 and being on his feet again within days), is less likely to develop any infections or scars, etc. He can also endure much harsher conditions than the average human, such as the fallout from a dirty bomb and deep space without protective gear, without suffering ill effects. But he can still die from enough direct damage or blood loss. Replicants are biorobotic androids.

He's still partially subject to the laws of robotics, meaning he can't intentionally harm humans. But his obedience functions a bit differently from that — he will only feel fully compelled to obey orders issued by those he recognises as his superior officers and/or handlers. He isn't able to directly disobey them, though he can get "creative" in how he carries out the orders when needed. (...And I'm open to him potentially acknowledging a character as his handler if the development goes that way, if anyone would like their character to experience having their own pet terminator for a while. It could actually help his development toward eventually recognising himself as a real person capable of free will. This won't necessarily lead to negative CR with the character, either. Just an idea to maybe explore in the future.)

Possessions:
-an upright piano he restored
-his photo of himself with Connor
-his coat
-various changes of clothes
-LAPD and DPD uniforms
-black gloves
-a blaster+shoulder holsters
(Blasters are basically just high powered handguns. Nothing game breaking.)
-a pocket-sized emanator
(It contains Joi, a holographic AI.)
-mobile phone
-a print book from Sapper and a few other miscellaneous books
-an optic scanner used for identifying replicants (which I believe is also K's Knowledge Integration Assistant unit)
-his Nexus-9 "user manual" maintenance kit by Wallace Corp.
-miscellaneous parts taken from a RK900 android he killed
-medication prescribed for his head injury
(Painkillers, antibiotics, nifty futuristic supplements for bone regeneration, etc.)
-his spinner if possible
(It's car-sized.)

A note on Joi, the version K has isn't nearly as developed/personalised as the one you see in the movie, nor is this version his love interest. She's like a more advanced Siri. So while the Joi from the movie could arguably be appable as her own character because of all her development, I don't believe this rudimentary version could be. This one is more along the lines of a pet companion/mobile phone than a full character, she also isn't sentient.

Please provide three samples from your previous game, at least one will have to be third person with context:
Sample One: K's awoken in the middle of the night by his android neighbour blaring heavy metal music. Worried about the likelihood of their human neighbours calling the cops over it (and fully aware of the substantially harsher charges that non-humans face), K warns him to keep things down before it gets to that point. They continue texting for a bit and even exchange music they like. Despite the risks, an unexpected friendship is born.

Sample Two: After being accosted by the same intoxicated human, K and Connor try to make sense of the strange man's behaviour. K also fills his deviant android friend in on what his job entails: hunting and retiring rogue replicants, which aren't so unlike Connor himself. Things get tense with Connor asking if K intends to turn him in, which he doesn't; Connor is not only beyond K's jurisdiction, but also his friend. His first.

Sample Three: It only took being stabbed, but K acquires a piano during an assignment and looks forward to creating music of his own now. Once he's back home with it, he invites Connor in and his friend tends to his injury for him. Though initially reluctant about being taken care of like this, K finds himself enjoying the physical contact in a way he's never experienced before. It's unexpectedly nice, which seems to be a running theme with his and Connor's friendship. Afterward Connor shares the alarming news that his location's likely been compromised and he'll have to find somewhere else to live, but turns down K's offer to stay with him. K isn't happy about any of this, and also has some bad news of his own: he'll have to return to LA soon. Uncertain whether they'll see each other again, they share an embrace — literally K's first, and he hopes it won't be their last. (SFW, but descriptions of blood/injury...and intense shmoop)

Notes: Anything else? Not that I can think of. Let me know if anything's unclear and I can elaborate.
